100% fossil-free electricity in our operations

As of September 1, 2025, we will use only fossil-free electricity in our operations.

This is a concrete step toward reducing the climate impact of our own operations and part of our long-term environmental efforts. By reviewing both our energy consumption and energy sources, we can reduce our impact in areas where we ourselves have the opportunity to make a difference.

 

Reduced Climate Impact

Since 2020, we have reduced our climate impact, measured in CO₂e, by 48%. This reduction is the result of several changes in our operations—both large and small.

Among other things, we have switched to fossil-free electricity, transitioned to electric vehicles where possible, and worked to improve energy efficiency in our production. By reducing material waste and making better use of our resources, we can simultaneously reduce both waste and unnecessary material consumption.

The work continues. Every improvement is a step in the right direction.

Certified Quality, Environment, and Occupational Health and Safety

Working systematically with quality, the environment, and workplace safety is an integral part of our business. Elkapsling is certified under three internationally recognized management systems:

  • ISO 9001 – Quality Management
  • ISO 14001 – Environmental Management
  • ISO 45001 – Occupational Health and Safety Management

These certifications help us work in a structured manner, monitor our activities, and continue to improve our operations. For our customers, this means a supplier that takes a systematic approach to quality and the environment. We are constantly working to reduce waste, increase recycling and source separation, improve the efficiency of our energy use, and make conscious choices in our operations. We are also reviewing our work processes to identify opportunities to use materials, energy, and other resources more effectively.

Not all improvements have to be big. Many small changes in everyday life can add up to make a difference—and the work is never done. We continue to measure, monitor, and improve the things we can influence.
